
The Howard Dakota Organic
Beef Plant is open and operating with both USDA & Certified
Organic production.

Dakota Beef acquired the Howard plant in October, 2003
and is currently working with QED, an internationally
recognized meat production engineering firm to upgrade
the facility. We are completely refitting the production
line to take advantage of state-of-the-art safe food
handling equipment to make our production system the
safest in the industry. We are also working with International
Certification Services, Inc., (Medina, ND) for organic
certification in both the required USDA National Organic
Program and the voluntary Farm Verified Organic international
label program.
 When completed, the 20,000 square-foot
facility will process up to 80 head of cattle a day,
delivering approximately
70,000 pounds of 100% certified organic beef products.
