

CEO & Chairman — Scott Lively has
demonstrated leadership and innovation in a number of entrepreneurial
companies. He has more than 10 years of experience in developing
and executing strategic and operating growth plans for
some of the world's largest supply chain management
companies, including Siemens, Sterling Commerce, and Mobius
Management Systems. Most recently, Mr. Lively completed
a book that analyzes the history and future direction of
the beef industry which will be published later this year.
COO & Vice President Live
Division — Steve Hanley's expertise
in the banking and financing of Agriculture and Livestock
is an invaluable asset for the Dakota Beef Company.
Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Hanley was President
of the Community First Bank in Clark, South Dakota, where
he managed the finances of the majority of cattle producers
in South Dakota. He is also a successful entrepreneur in
the Natural Healthcare Industry.
EVP and Chief Financial Officer - Steve Lavey is a seasoned finance
executive with over 20 years of experience in new ventures, venture
capital, banking, public companies, mergers & acquisitions, finance
and accounting. Steve most recently co-founded and served as Executive
Vice President-CFO and Managing Director for The Envestnet Group, Inc.,
a successful VC-backed financial services firm focused on products and
services in the asset management sector. He has also served on the Board
and as the VP-CFO for American Disposal Services, a publicly traded
consolidator in the waste services industry. Steve received an MBA in
corporate finance and strategy from the University of Michigan Graduate
School of Business and has an undergraduate degree in economics and
accounting from the University of Michigan.
VP Sales — Matt
Grove is a seasoned sales executive who has used
his business development skills to grow a
number of organizations from early stage into substantial
companies. He joined Dakota Beef from Bridge Conferencing,
a successful Internet conferencing service he co-founded.
He
also served as Director of Sales for Mendelson Associates,
a systems integrator based in San Francisco that grew to
$22 million in revenues before being acquired by Non Stop
Net in 2000. Matt holds a BA in Business and Economics
from Illinois State University.
Communications Director — Seldon Moreland is a veteran
public relations executive who has developed communications
strategies for a variety of companies in many different
industries, including commercial lending, business consulting
and international lighting design. He has recently completed
an assignment for the Educational Foundation of the National
Restaurant Association, developing college-level textbooks
in the areas of food handling and safety, employee supervision
and restaurant management.
General Counsel - Douglas R. Johnson Esq., is a skilled attorney who
has counseled businesses in a variety of areas
including commercial transactions, food safety and dispute
resolution over the last ten years. He received his J.D.
degree from Northwestern University School of Law after
attending the University of Illinois and Oxford University.
Nutritionist: Verlyn Sneller provides the company
with more than 30 years experience developing nutritionally
balanced diets from high quality organic feed to improve cattle
health and production.
He has been a proponent of sustainable agriculture since 1976,
when he realized that nutrition balancing, rather than antibiotics
was the
answer to animal health. In 1980, Verlyn started his own company,
assisting farmers and ranchers improve their soil and plant
nutrition without
the use of chemicals. Mr. Sneller grew up on a farm in Northwest
Iowa, before attending South Dakota State University in Brookings,
S.D. where
he received his BS degree.
Environmental Engineer: Jun Yoshitani brings more
than 30 years of experience as an environmental professional
with a special
focus in the area of agricultural waste management and development
of biomass
renewable energy programs. He is an expert in the anaerobic
digestion process for the treatment of organic waste. Jun is
responsible for ensuring
that the Dakota Beef Company is nationally recognized as an
industry leader in environmental compliance and assisting farmers
and ranchers
with their efforts to comply with the environmental rules and
requirements of the Organic Foods Protection Act. He received
a BS in civil engineering
from Tufts University and an MS in environmental engineering
from the University of Connecticut.
